Couponing at Publix

Hey Yall,
Since it's been a while since I have done a coupon class blog post  I figured I would give yall a run down of my latest trip to Publix. This run is a little bigger that what I would normally do but they had so many good deals that I had coupons for and I could use all the things I got so I went for it. I am going to detail what I bought and what coupons I used so if your a beginner maybe this will help out out some and as always if you have questions and I can help just ask.
So here's my haul!! Before taxes I paid $23.28.

Now yall know what I say about taxes! I don't count that in my total because you can't coupon tax! I mean those extreme couponers on TV can get out of the store without paying a dime but I can't so in my world you can't coupon tax :)

So now that you have seen all my goodies lets break it down and see how the shopping trip went shall we!!
Edwards Pies BOGO(Buy one Get one) $7.83

I used (2) $1.00 Manufacturer Coupons and (2) .55 Publix Coupons (Remember Publix lets you stack a Manufacturer Coupon and a Publix Coupon) final price for both pies $4.75

Nestle Tollhouse Frozen Cookie Dough BOGO $2.63

I used (1) .50 Manufacturer Coupon (that doubled to a dollar Publix doubles coupons up to .50 cents) and (1) .50 of 2 Manufacturer Coupon  that doubled to a dollar final price for all 3 pack of cookie dough $ 1.96

                                                 Pam Cooking Spray BOGO $3.19

I used (2) .50 cent Manufacturer Coupons that doubled to a dollar final price for 2 cooking sprays $1.19

                                                    Del Monte Vegetables BOGO $1.25

I used (2) .40 cent off 4 Manufacturer Coupons that doubled to .80 cents and (2) $1.00 off 4 Publix Coupons final price for 8 cans of vegetables $1.40 (8 is the limit of one product you can buy at Publix per shopping trip)

Campbells Cream of Chicken BOGO 1.33

I used (1) .40 cent off 4 Manufacturer Coupon that doubled to .80 cents and (1) 1.00 off 4 Publix Coupon. Now If I had been paying attention I would have noticed that the Publix Coupon was for the Healthy Harvest Cream of Chicken and that was what I got so that it would match my coupon. What I didn't see was that the Healthy Harvest Cream of Chicken was NOT on the BOGO those suckers were 4 for $7.00. That was a $5.00 mistake on my part. I have been doing this coupon thing over a year and I still screw up so if your still screwing up too go easy on yourself we all do it!!

                                                             Crisco Oil 2 for $5.00

I had no coupons for these but it was a good deal and we use the dickens out of this stuff so I got some so nanny nanner nanner!!! HEE HEE

                                                         Swiss Miss BOGO $2.49

I used (2) .80 cent Manufacturer Coupons final price for both $.89

Duncan Hines Decadent Brownie Mix BOGO $2.29

I used (6) .75 off 1 Manufacturer Coupons final price for all 6 boxes of brow mix $2.37

                                               Idahoan Mashed Potatoes BOGO 1.33

I had no coupons for these..... it's mashed potatoes......nuff said.........

                                                      Ronco Pasta BOGO 1.85

I used (1) Manufactuer Coupon $1.00 of 2 final price for both pasta's .85 cents

                                                        Ritz Crackers BOGO 2.99

I used (1) .75 cent Manufacturer Coupon final price for 2 boxes $2.24

Vanity Fair Napkins BOGO $ 2.29

I used (2)  $1.00 off of 2  Target Manufacturer Coupon ( Remember Publix takes Target as a competitor coupon) final price for 4 packs of napkins $ 2.58

This was my favorite deal of the night!!!
Rubbermaid Glass Food Containers 40% off

I used (2) $1.50 Manufacturer Coupons and (2) 3.00 Publix Coupons final price for both glass food containers $1.00 thats right I got these bowls for .50 cents each! They were $9.99 regular price. Take 40% off that price that knocks them down to $4.99 take off $1.50 for my Manufacturer Coupon that makes them $3.49 add my $3.00 Publix Coupon to that that knocks them down to just .49 cents!! Now that's an awesome score!!!!

Suave Naturals Shampoo 10 for 10 or (1.00 each)

I used (3) $1.00 off 1 Manufacturer Coupon so that made 3 of them absolutley FREE!! Then I used (2) $1.00 of 2 Manufacturer Coupons So I got 4 more for $ 2.00. Final Cost for 7 shampoo's $2.00

                                                         Snuggle Dryer Sheets 2.99

I used $1.00 Manufacturer Coupon final cost for the dryer sheets $1.99

I also had a $5.00 off any $30.00 purchase  Publix Coupon that my friend from work gave me that was sent to her in the mail from Publix and there was a Target coupon in the Sunday paper in the Target Ad where you could get a $10.00 dollar Target gift card if you spent $50.00 or more. Publix will take these coupons. You may get a $10.00 Publix gift card or you may get $10.00 off your shopping trip it really depends on the cashier you get. I got $10.00 off my shopping trip! So this post was a little long and alot for yall to read through but I wanted to give yall a run down to try and help my fellow couponers out some! Let me know how it's going for yall!!

Until Next Time

When Life Stops

Hey yall,
I know this is supposed to be a fun little blog about homesteading and farming and all the crazy going on's of the Webb bunch and I know I haven't been keeping it updated like I wanted to. Now I'm a pretty private person when it comes to me and what's going on in my family but I decided to let yall in on whats going on with me and why my life is falling apart and why I cant keep up with my blog right now or anything else for that matter. Yall remember my Migraine Hell post I did a while back well that Migraine Hell had multiplied by 1000. I now have chronic migraines almost every day along with a very sore and achy neck that hurts almost as bad. I am in almost constant pain 24/7 now and let me tell you it is waying on me like nothing I have ever experienced in my life before. It takes every stong will inside of me to get up and go to work every day and hold it together for that 8 hours and pretend that I am not hurting so bad that I can not stand it. I now know a  person is not made to handle constant pain every day and some days I feel like I can't handle it anymore. But somehow I do. I have been to my family doctor who has me on 125 miligram of Topamax daily (this is a drug that is supposed to prevent migraines from happening) so far it is not working at all. She wants me to slowly up it to 200 miligrams daily but I can't tolerate it because the meds make me so out of it I can't concentrate at work. I can't remember things or form my words right. Topamax is actually a siezure medication and it affects your brain so you can see why I can't really see myself taking 200 miligrams a day. She also has me on Maxault which is a Migraine medication to take when I get a migraine that is supposed to make the migraine go away this medication also does not help me. So far everything she has given me has not worked at all. Now, I have had migraines before, all my life actually but never anything like I am experiencing right now. Usually I would have 1 or 2 a month take a Relpax ( the migraine medicine I used to take before it stopped working) and it would be gone the next day no problem. I have been dealing with these chronic migraines with neck pain since June. I can't get in to see a Neurologist until December so in the meantime I am not going to sit around and wait. I went to a Neurosurgeon to have him look at my neck in the hopes of having a neck problem. Thinking maybe that could be the problem he ordered an MRI I had that done yesterday. It's gotten so bad that I pray they find something wrong with my neck so I can find an answer. I'm having my horomones tested. I had a hysterectomy in March my headaches started in June you never know it could be related. I'm starting a vitamin regimin my friend recommened maybe my body is lacking something. It could be a million things but just sitting around taking all these meds is not working for me so I am going to keep trying things in the hopes that something.....anything...will give me my life back. I go to work I come home I go to bed and cry myself to sleep that is my life that is why I havent been on my blog or my facebook or my twitter or anything for that matter I have no life right now. So if your the praying kind or the good vibes kind or the dance around the fire naked kind if you wouldnt mind maybe you could send one up for me that I would get an answer and some relief soon.

Until Next Time

Weekend Roundup

Hey Yall
It was a busy weekend around here. Deer season has begun and I still have a few things on my honey do list that I need done before winter sets in. Getting my husband to do those things will get harder and harder the farther the season goes along so I'm trying to get them all crammed in while I can Hee Hee!! So this week I wanted to get some hay and get my young chicks pen covered in hay to replace the mud the poor things have been walking in plus the smell was yuck!! As you can see I can mark that off my list!

Then I wanted to get our main coop cleaned out for the winter and get fresh hay in the laying boxes for our grown hens. We got that checked off the list.

Then we had to take a break from farming and get spiffed up to go to our nieces wedding Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bedwell.
My daughter Baylee caught the bouquet so we all know what that means.........
So I would say it was a good and productive weekend maybe I can get the garden tilled up next weekend if I'm lucky we'll see!

Alfred's Do it Yourself Dog Bed

Hey yall!
So we got a new fur baby recently named Alfred. Its so funny how things work out. As yall know my schnauzer baby Tanzi got killed a month or so ago and we were completely devastated and I said that I was not going to get another dog right away. Funny how things change. A couple of days ago I get a text from my sister in law that starts off saying  Now I know you said you didn't want to get another dog right now BUT............... Seems she had a friend that was moving and had a full blooded male schnauzer named Alfred that she could not take with her. Her friend was looking for a good home for Alfred and my sister in law thought of me instantly of course because we love schnauzers so I mean I can't really blame her can I?  Hee Hee!! He is 2 years old fully potty trained and crate trained I mean come on who could pass that up I know I couldn't so guess who has a new schnauzer fur baby? Yep! This girl!! Everybody Meet Alfred!!

So after we got Alfred all settled in I wanted to get him a new dog bed to lay around on. Now I don't know if yall have price a dog bed recently but the little flat ones at Walmart are $25.00 so I was like UH No thanks I can make one way cheaper than that. Couponing has ruined me yall I can't hardly pay full price for anything now. So I just took myself over to the sewing department at Walmart and bought me this 5 pound  box of Polyester Fiberfil for $12.00

I already had some material at home so I got that out and measured it to fit what I figured would be a good size dog bed and cut me out 2 pieces.
Lord please do not look at that nasty carpet this room has not been redone yet since we moved in EWWWWW!!!!!
Then I put my 2 pieces together with the right sides touching or with the sides that are going to be the outside of your dog bed touching and pinned it on 3 sides leaving one end side unstitched to put the stuffing in.

Then I sewed all 3 sides on my Brother sewing machine my mom gave me!!

It will look like this when your done!!
Now you want to hem the edges of your open seam on the end. Just fold you seam over and pen it and sew all the way around

Now get your stuffing out and measure how much you will need to go in your pillow and cut off your excess. I really need to crop theses pictures so yall don't see these mysterious feet and hands in these pics.  Hee Hee
Again with the mysterious feet
Now gently take your bed covering and pull over your stuffing your going to have to do something with your open end it's really up to you what you want to do you can sew it up you can Velcro it I cut holes in mine and tied it up with ribbons so I could take the cover off and wash it.
Here is my finished product and it only cost me $12.00 now granted it may be a king size dog bed but Alfred don't seem to mind.

Until Next Time

Winter is coming

Well summer is almost over is everyone else as sad as I am? I DO NOT like cold weather and I feel like I was robbed out of a hot dry summer this year and last year. Where did Alabama summer's go? The garden is done for the year. Chicken hatching has wrapped up until the spring. It's almost time to say good bye to the pool for the summer....sigh.......Now we will be moving into winter mode at the Webb house fortunately for me I have HUB (my dad) who is a wood cutting machine and he already has us a full winter supply of wood for the cold days ahead so that part is done. Last year the heating part of our central unit went out so we decided to try heating using only wood heat it worked out well and you wouldn't believe the difference in out light bill so we are going to do it again this year. Winter also means deer season and that means stocking up our freezer with deer burger, steaks, roast and tenderloins that will last us until next deer season. This year we used deer burger in all of our hamburger meat recipes and saved big time on our grocery bill. Now that we are used to eating the deer burger the hamburger meat seems to greasy to us so we have almost completely stopped eating it. We bartered some chickens this summer for a deer this season so we have to make sure we get Joe his deer to him first before we start stocking up but with 3 hunters in the family that shouldn't be hard. Since I will be cooped up all winter I am setting a goal for myself to learn 3 things that I really want to learn how to do but I don't have the patience for 1. Crocheting I have tried this before but I just can't get the hang of it so I'm gonna give it another go. 2. Quilting  one of my dear friends taught me how to do a quilt top (Thanks Tammie) but I never finished quilting it or putting a bottom cover on it so I want to finish that this winter 3. Sewing on my machine I know how my machine works but I cant for the life of me follow a pattern and actually sew something. If I can learn these 3 things over the winter and kill a big buck (HeeHee) my goals will be complete. Winter will come wether I like it or not those long dark cold rainy days will be here before we know it. So enjoy what few days of summer that are left I know I will.

Until Next Time

Hot Tub on a Budget

Lets face it who don't love a hot tub? I know I do.  I mean I'm one of those people who go to the Smokies every year and stay in a cabin just for the hot tub. Yes I know, but hey! I told yall I love a hot tub. I have always wanted my own for my house but let's get real here who has $8,000 dollars just laying around to spend on a hot tub? Yea me either. So one day the other half come home and he says I saw a hot tub at a customers house that you need its a Intex Pur Spa my customer loves it says it's great for what we want one for. Now let me just say I was skeptical when he said it was a plastic inflatable hot tub. I mean come on that thing can't be any good right?? So we talk about it back and forth for a couple of weeks he's giving me the good points Negative Nelly over here is giving him the bad points. So after a few discussions he talks me into it. Man am I glad he did I love this thing!! I ordered mine from IM Innovations for $459.00 free shipping they also give you a one year warranty on there items. It arrived in 3 days with no hassle. Here she is in her box looking all hot and stuff (Get it? HOT and stuff Hee Hee)
It comes with everything you need to set it up and inflate it. Set up took about 10 minutes if you go along with the set up disc they provided for you, very easy.
After we got it inflated we started filling with water this took about 30 minutes.

The heater was really easy to work so after we got it filled up we turned on the heater to warm the water this takes about 24 hours to heat up but well worth it when you get in it for the first time and its so hot!!! Did I mention that I love this thing!!
Now be warned these next couple of pictures I wanted to show you how deep the tub is and how sturdy the sides are that you can even set on the side of the tub and it will not give. Proceed with caution you have been warned (giggles) As you can see a selfie taker I am NOT!!

Don't be intimidated about putting chemicals in your tub just do a little internet research and it will tell you all you need to know about maintaining your spa water. When you want to move it all you have to do is deflate it and move it so simple. This tub is great for the price and if you are a hot tub lover and looking for a cheaper option this is the way to go! I sound like Intex hired me to advertise for them maybe I should give them a call Hee Hee!!! But seriously this thing is great for achy sore muscles and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase.

Until next time

Migraine Hell

Hey Yall,
Today I want to talk about Migraine Headaches do you have them? If not I bet you know someone who does. These things have plagued me my whole life but now that I am in my 40's they are worse than they have ever been. I have been to the Neurologist I have taken all the meds I have even done water therapy over the years and so far I have not got relief from them. I used to think I was cursed to have Migraines 3 or 4 times a month now I would love to only have them that frequently. For the last 3 months I have had at least 5 headaches out of 7 days. I am ready to totally loose it. I don't know if any of you have ever experienced constant pain for a long period of time but it will literally drive you crazy!! I have alot of problems with my neck being stiff and achy, I'm sure staring at a computer screen all day in an office chair is the culprit to that.  I have started going back to the chiropractor. I do not like going to the Chriro because I feel like I have to go ALOT and pay that copay ALOT but I am at a point now that I will pay whatever it takes to get this under control. I have had 4 visits so far I can say that I am starting to get a very small amount of relief from them. Now I'm not pushing Chiropractic care I'm not one of those natural medicine guru's I mean if someone said if you will jump off this bridge your headaches would stop I'd be off that thing you know?? I have found that Relpax does help when I do have a migraine. They don't stop it from coming but it does stop is once it's started the only down side to this is I only get 6 pills a month. That usually last about a week so you see my dilemma here. I also bought me a inflatable hot tub to soak my achy neck and shoulder muscles (there will be a future post on the hot tub) So fellow migraine sufferers what do you do to keep these evil things at bay? Have any of yall used a chiropractor before? Tell me what ya got??

Until next time

Couponing at Publix 08-11-14

Hey yall,
I did some couponing yesterday at Publix I thought I would share with yall how it went!!
I've already told yall about how I get my list together and what websites I like to use to check out the deals and how the BOGO sales at Publix work so today I'm just going to give you the items I bought and what coupons I used.

Pillsbury Toaster Strudels BOGO $1.95 I used 4 $1.00 of 2 manufacturer coupons I printed off Coupons.com. I got 8 boxes of Toaster Strudels for $3.80. These will come in handy when deer season arrives.

Del Monte Fruit Burst 3 for $6.00 (so $2.00 a piece) I used 2 $1.00 of 2 Target competitor coupons and 2 .50 cent off 2 manufacturer coupons that both doubled to a dollar a piece. I got 4 boxes of Fruit Burst for $4.00. Now, little did I know these things are a baby food consistency and everyone at my house gagged at the idea of eating these so they went to work with me to give to someone who had toddlers so it's all good.

Shedd's Spread Counry Crock Butter BOGO $2.39 I used 2 .40 cent manufacturer coupons that both doubled to .80 cents a piece. So I got 2 double packs of Shedd Spread for .79 cents. I'm going to look into freezing this stuff but I'm not sure if that can be done or not so we may be eating a lot of buttered stuff for a while (Hee Hee)

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks BOGO $2.93 I used 5 .50 cent off 2 manufacturer coupons that all doubled to $1.00 a piece. So I got 10 boxes of Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks for $ 9.65. I usually don't buy this many of one item but my daughter and husband both love these things and all 10 boxes will be gone in no time. Atleast that was my rationality for it anyways. (Grins)

Kellogs Frosted Flakes BOGO $4.19 I used 1 $1.00 off 2 manufacturer coupon that my Nashville BFF sent me. Don't even get me started on how Tennessee's coupons are way better than Alabama's. I paid $3.19 for 2 boxes of Frosted Flakes.

Pilot FriXion Pens BOGO $4.49 I used 2 $1.00 off 1 Target competitor coupons. I paid $2.49 for 4 pens. Its back to school time so anytime you can get a deal on school supplies you gotta grab that sucker up. (Jars not included). But yall knew that!

Colgate toothpaste BOGO $1.93 I used 3 .50 cent manufacturer coupons that all doubled to $1.00 a piece. All 3 toothpaste were FREE. This was my favorite deal of the shopping trip because well it was free. I actually made .9 cents off this deal Go Me!!!

Ragu Pasta BOGO 1.99 I used 1 .40 cent off 2 manufacturer coupon that doubled to .80 cents. I should have paid $1.19 for both Ragu Sauces but since I bragged on my free toothpaste let me tell yall my screw up on this deal.....sigh...... When I grabbed my sauces what I didn't notice was that one of my sauces was labeled organic which was not inclued in the sale. I paid $3.29 for that one jar of Ragu EEEEKKKKK. I didn't notice this until I was already on my way home so that was a bummer. Just goes to show that no matter how good you think you are at couponing mistakes will happen even though they suck and you beat yourself up over it all the way home they still happen.

There's that organic sucker UHHHH!! Ok I'm over it....... really I am.......Ok maybe not just yet but I will get there.

Pure Wesson Oil 2 for $5.00 I broke my rule about buying something that I didnt have a coupon for but we were totally out and I needed some so I through caution to the wind and snatched two of those dudes up.  I'm adventurous like that!! Hee Hee!!

I also had a $5.00 off a $40.00 purchase coupon that was in the (Madison County) Huntsville Times. I guess they think Jackson County folks don't want a Publix coupon in there paper.

So all in all it was a good trip I think my total before coupons was something like $57.00 and after coupons before tax I walked out of there paying $26.46. Not too bad for all the stuff I got. I hope this tutorial will help yall out on your coupon adventures. As always if you have any questions feel free to ask. If i can help I will.

Until Next Time
